A Factory for the People

The following happened when Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the Kusong Chicken Farm.

After being briefed on the renovation project of the farm in front of a map bearing its panoramic view, he looked around several places of the farm while acquainting himself with how chicken was supplied to the Kusong citizens.

Learning that the farm was supplying one half of its products to the citizens and the other half to some units, he said that the farm should serve the people.

Then he continued that on his way to the farm he had noticed that noodle houses were all quiet, that the noodle houses could be operated well if the by-products of the farm were supplied to them, and that if so, the people would be very pleased.

Then he added: When I went to Kanggye before, I saw a giblets soup restaurant there bustling with visitors; Kusong should operate its noodle houses and serve its citizens in the way the city of Kanggye does.

The officials were deeply impressed by his care for the people.
